Comedian offers special concert at Plaza Comedian Tim Wilson will perform in concert Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre. Proceeds from the concert will go to fund research for cystic fibrosis. Tickets are $25, $20 and $15, and can be purchased online at www.plaza.org, over the phone at 361-2101 or at the theater’s box office. KRT serves up third helping of ‘Tuna’ HORSE CAVE — Kentucky Repertory Theatre serves up its third helping of Tuna on Friday with the opening of the much anticipated “Red, White and Tuna” written by Joe Sears, Ed Howard and Jaston Williams. The polyester-clad citizens of Tuna, Texas, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m., with a reception preceding the performance at 6:45 p.m. Robert Brock and Henry Kevin Haggard take the stage once again as the sole performers playing all of Tuna’s inhabitants including men, women, children and animals (thanks to 40 lightning-quick costume changes). In this latest saga, all the Tuna favorites return as the Prayer Posse led by Vera Carp and Reverend Spikes take on church hymns while Petey Fisk continues his off-beat pleas for a more humane Tuna. The flirtatious Tastee Kreme gals have a food booth at the Reunion serving Aunt Pearl's prize winning potato salad that may have been in the heat too long. “Red, White and Tuna” runs July 3 – Aug. 16. For ticket information and reservations contact the KRT box office at (800) 342-2177. ‘Schoolhouse Rock Live!’ comes to Barn Lot EDMONTON — A pop culture phenomenon comes to the musical stage as Barn Lot Theater presents “Schoolhouse Rock Live”! The Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs is not only making a small-screen comeback, instructing a whole new generation to “Unpack Your Adjectives” and “Do The Circulation,” but it will be on stage for three consecutive weekends from July 9 through July 26 with shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday each weekend starting at 7 p.m. The audience is introduced to Tom (Robert Morrison), a young teacher preparing for his first day of school.
