CAVE CITY — CAVE CITY COUNCIL

DATE: Feb. 10, 2014 ACTIONS: Council members took the following actions: Approved minutes of January meeting; approved financial report; acknowledged receipt of 2013 audit report; agreed to declare a brush truck used by the Cave City Volunteer Fire Department as surplus property; agreed to apply for a USDA grant to help fund the purchase of new police cruisers; agreed to apply for a Kentucky Homeland Security grant to help fund the purchase of bulletproof vests for police officers; approved on second reading an ordinance repealing chapter 2.28 of the municipal code creating a personnel system; approved on first reading an ordinance creating an additional zoning classification of R-4 or high density residential; approved on first reading an ordinance amending the city’s zoning map and assigning an R-4 and B-2 classifications to the Glenwood properties in accordance with the map; and approved on first reading an ordinance classifying recently annexed property as R-2 zoning classification.

DISCUSSION: Council members discussed the following: Allowing Twin Lakes Cave Conservation Task Force to clean up a cave off U.S. 31-W and flooding in tornado shelters.

REPORTS: Council members heard the following reports: Fire, police, public works, activity, community development, code enforcement, board of adjustment, walking trail and economic reports.
