Since opening in April 2004, the West Main Street “bar” offers its customers eight tanning facilities as well as the aforementioned drinks. Sherry Batson, whose daughter Kim Cairo owns the business with husband John, said the unique combination of refreshing beverages and getting an early start on that trip to the beach helps to keep customers coming back when tanning is not in full swing. “You have a slow season for your tanning business,” Batson said, adding that peak periods are around spring break and prom season. The menu offers various coffee drinks like frappucinos, lattes and machiatos, as well as juices and smoothies. There is also a monthly selection, which usually coincides with a particular season or holiday. For October, in honor of Halloween and fall, the establishment is offering the candy corn frappucino. To achieve that sweet, candy flavor, Batson said flavored syrups like English toffee are combined with white frappucino mix. They are then blended with ice and topped with whipped cream. It is another seasonal concoction, however, that Batson is particularly fond of. “The pumpkin spice (frappucino) is really good,” she said. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
