GLASGOW — Two people were killed Thursday morning in a crash on U.S. 68/Ky. 80 in western Barren County.
Francis Galloway, 63, of Smiths Grove, lost control of her 2001 Toyota passenger car while traveling east on the wet roadway and it traveled into the westbound lane and collided with a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Clayton Clarkson, 64, of Glasgow. Barren County Sheriff's Office personnel responded to the crash at approximately 9:55 a.m.
Galloway and her husband, Charles A. Galloway, 63, who was a passenger in the Toyota, were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Barren County Coroner's Office.
Clarkson was initially transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital and was later flown to Vanderbilt University Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. A passenger in his vehicle, William Wisdom, 50, of Mount Herman, was transported to T.J. Samson.
BCSO investigated at the crash site and was assisted by South Barren and Park City volunteer fire departments and Barren-Metcalfe EMS.
