11:03 EVENING UPDATE: Arrest made in death of Brandon Tyler Crain

MUNFORDVILLE — When Brandon Tyler Crain's body was pulled from Green River in Butler County nearly a year ago, state police said no foul play was suspected.

That has changed as of Saturday.

Hart County Sheriff Boston Hensley confirmed Saturday that a person has been arrested in connection with Crain's death.

Daniel J. Hostetler, 19, of 28 Joe Bowls Road, Summer Shade, was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree manslaughter, according to a press release from the Hart County Sheriff's Office.Hostetler was taken into custody by Hensley and Hart County Deputy Jeff Wilson and transferred to the Hart County Jail. The HCSO was assisted by the Flemingsburg Police Department and the Barren County Sheriff's Office, the press release stated.

A Flemingsburg officer contacted the Hart County Sheriff's Office about the case and the BCSO assisted Hart County in locating Hostetler, Hensley said Saturday night.

The Hart County sheriff would not go into detail as to what led his office to arrest Hostetler in connection with Crain's disappearance.

Hostetler is expected to appear in Hart District Court on Monday for arraignment.

The case is also expected to be presented to a Hart County grand jury in May.

Crain's body was pulled from the Green River on April 28, 2012, after the 19-year-old Munfordville teenhad been missing for four months.

Friends and relatives had spent those months searching for the young man, hoping he was still alive. He had last been seen around 2 a.m. In Munfordville at an apartment on E. Center Street.

Crain worked as a host at Applebee's in Glasgow and had closed out his bank account three weeks before he disappeared, according to a previous Daily Times article.

Prior to the discovery of his body, when the case was still considered a missing person's investigation, co-workers helped in the search.
