10:10 MORNING UDPATE: Keen to run for sheriff

GLASGOW — Kent Keen, who is presently serving as appointed sheriff, has said he will seek the office in 2014.

Keen announced during a 10 a.m. press conference in the Barren County Fiscal Court chambers that he will run for Barren County sheriff. Official filing for 2014 elections begins Nov. 6.

Keen also discussed the local launch of a smartphone application through which the BCSO can enhance communications with the community.
