3:45 p.m. AFTERNOON UPDATE: Woman killed in wreck Tuesday

GLASGOW — One person was killed and another injured in a wreck Tuesday morning on Nobob Road.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision at approximately 8:10 a.m. Tuesday on Nobob Road, according to BCSO Public Information Deputy Mike Houchens.

Michael A. Poindexter, 32, of Glasgow, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup southbound when his vehicle collided head-on with a 2004 Chevrolet passenger car traveling northbound driven by Tammy Vaughn, 56, of Summer Shade.

Vaughn was pronounced dead at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.

Poindexter was transported by private means to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.

BCSO was assisted on scene by the Temple Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Barren Metcalfe Emergency Medical Services and the coroner’s office.
