3:07 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Impactful winter storm is expected through this evening

LOUISVILLE —

A complex and messy period of weather with significant accumulations of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will continue tonight as plentiful moisture rides over the top of some arctic air filtering into the region. Use caution if traveling this evening, according to the National Weather Service's website.

This includes Barren, Monroe and Metcalfe counties. The winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday, the website stated.
