9:31 MORNING UPDATE: Body found in Hart County

HORSE CAVE — Kentucky State Police are investigating the discovery of a body in an abandoned residence on Old Dixie Highway in Hart County.

State police post 3 troopers responded to a call of a body found in an abandoned house at 3:21 p.m. Saturday. The body had been found when the caller was checking on a stray dog that had been seen going in and out of the residence.

An autopsy is scheduled for today in Louisville. 

The investigation is ongoing and is led by Detective Erik Salman. He was assisted on scene by Hart County Coroner Jeff Roten and the Horse Cave Fire Department.
