Police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery.
A white man entered the Gamaliel branch of South Central Bank on Tuesday morning and indicated he was armed. He demanded money and received an undisclosed amount, said Trooper Billy Gregory with the Kentucky State Police’s Columbia Post.
A call about the robbery was received by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department around 9:02 a.m.
The suspect left the scene and may be driving a Nissan car with black trim on the rear of the vehicle.
The vehicle was last seen traveling west on Ky. 87, Gregory said.
Police are also looking for a green 1998 Nissan truck, with the Tennessee license number 839-BND. The truck was reported stolen from Clay County, Tenn., early Tuesday morning.
The robbery suspect was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and should be considered armed and dangerous, Gregory said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the state police at (800) 222-5555, or call 911.
Surrounding Kentucky and Tennessee authorities, as well as the FBI have been notified.
More details will be released when available, police said.
