Barren County On Trial

10:50 MORNING UPDATE: Cross examination of FBI agent continues in BCSO trial

BOWLING GREEN — FBI agent Mike Brown, lead investigator, remains on the stand Tuesday morning, testifying to how he collected evidence in his investigation of Barren County Sheriff Chris Eaton, deputy Aaron Bennett and drug task force detective Eric Guffey, alleged to have used excessive force when arresting Billy Randall Stinnett on Feb. 24, 2010, and later covering it up.

During cross examination, J. Guthrie True, attorney for Eaton, has focused on what he considers poor investigative techniques, including having a private citizen collect blood evidence. Defense attorneys Brian Butler and Buddy Alexander have focused on the lack of evidence Brown collected or presented to a federal grand jury in order to get indictments against their client, Guffey and Bennett, respectively.

Civil rights prosecutor Roy Conn III will have an opportunity to re-direct Brown's testimony after a brief recess.
