Samantha Stone, a fifth grader, uses the pressure of her hands to smash two Starburst candies together to illustrate how metaphoric rock is formed by heat and pressure. This experiment was part of the geology focused "CSI Mineral Detectives" class at the Glasgow Independent Schools Inquiring Minds Day Camp. Students had the opportunity to do several hands-on tasks to learn about science, art, robotics and math. Shelley Smith/Glasgow Daily Times
