0501 BCHS Driving Simulator 1.jpg

John Smoot of the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety instructs Barren County High School student Mary Rannells during a driving simulator. Smoot had Rannells text a message on her phone to monitor her reaction time while texting and driving. Smoot told the students that distracted driving is actually four times more deadly than drunk driving because the driver completely takes their attention off the road for several seconds.
