A topic causing a great deal of debate is cursive writing no longer being taught in many United States public schools, including Kentucky. The Common Core Standards, adopted by 45 of the 50 states, favors the instruction of keyboard in the fourth grade over cursive writing. Some argue not teaching cursive is a great loss in public education and others argue that it's an archaic form of writing that is seldom used anymore.
