Kentucky land owners and operators of certain cropland in designated areas may enroll eligible land in a new continuous Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) conservation practice titled States Acres for Wildlife Enhancement (SAFE), also known as CP38.
USDA’s Farm Service Agency is accepting sign ups for SAFE in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Metcalfe, Monroe and Warren counties.
SAFE is a wildlife-management tool that helps address local wildlife objectives through habitat restoration.
Enrollment will be accepted on a continuous CRP basis provided the land and producer meets certain eligibility requirements. For more information, contact the local FSA office or visit www.fsa.usda.gov on line.
